Lackchemie statt Anstrichstoffe und Pigmente

Eine der traditionsreichsten Fachgruppen in der Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh), die 1947 gegründete Fachgruppe Anstrichstoffe und Pigmente, wird zum 1. Januar 2008 umbenannt in Fachgruppe Lackchemie. Der GDCh-Vorstand beschloss in seiner Dezember-Sitzung, dem Antrag des Fachgruppenvorstands zuzustimmen. Lackchemie ist der moderne, umfassende Begriff, der mit der aktuellen Fachsprache im Einklang steht. Mit dem neuen Namen erhält die Fachgruppe auch erstmals ein Logo (www.gdch.de/lack).

"Beschichtungsstoffe wäre zwar besonders korrekt", merkt der Vorsitzende der Fachgruppe, Professor Dr. Thomas Brock von der Hochschule Niederrhein, an "steht aber im Gegensatz zum Sprachgebrauch und würde nicht akzeptiert." "Lack" wird weitgehend synonym für Beschichtungsstoffe verwendet; es
