Das Fraunhofer-Institut für Photonische Mikrosysteme IPMS hat einen IP Core entwickelt, der als Erweiterung zum etablierten CAN 2.0B Standard sowohl ISO als auch Nicht-ISO CAN FD (CAN mit flexibler Datenrate) unterstützt. Neben dieser Erweiterung, die auch eine Vernetzung komplexerer elektronischer Steuergeräte mit größerem Datendurchsatz ermöglicht, bietet der CAN FD IP Core des Fraunhofer IPMS weitere nützliche Funktionen. Designer von Embedded Systemen erhalten so einen flexibel nutzbaren Kern für die Entwicklung leistungsfähiger CAN FD Lösungen. Besucher der Embedded World können sich vom 23.-25. Februar 2016 am Ausstellungsstand des IPMS 583 in Halle 4 ein Bild machen.
