Franz Binder was born the youngest of four children on 22 April 1929 in Neckarsulm. He completed his apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Kolbenschmidt in Neckarsulm in 1947. Following more than ten years at Kolbenschmidt and his successful master’s certificate examination, he entered into self-employment on 1 January 1960.
