Das Wachstum auf den Berliner Flughäfen setzt sich 2008 fort. Im Januar starteten und landeten 1.413.778 Passagiere auf den Airports Schönefeld, Tegel und Tempelhof. Das entspricht einem Plus von 12,3 Prozent im Vergleich zum Januar des Vorjahres. Burkhard Kieker, Marketingchef der Berliner Flughäfen: "Auf den Berliner Flughäfen setzt sich der Wachstumstrend der letzten drei Monate des Vorjahrs fort. Auch wenn wir im Laufe des Jahres mit einer Abschwächung der Wachstumsdynamik rechnen – unter dem Strich werden wir in diesem Jahr sicherlich ein Passagierplus erzielen."
