Mit überwältigender Mehrheit wurde Prof. D. Phil. Martin Poppe vom Fachbereich Elektrotechnik und Informatik zum Vorsitzenden des Verbandes der Elektro- und Informationstechnik (VDE) Rhein-Ruhr gewählt. 340 Mitglieder des VDE bestätigten den Hochschullehrer der Fachhochschule Münster in seinem Amt, das er bereits vor zwei Jahren als erster Professor einer Fachhochschule annahm.
