Extreme Networks stellt heute auf der diesjährigen Interop Las Vegas ein neues 40-Gigabit-Ethernet-Modul mit vier Ports für die stapelbaren Switches Summit® X650 und Summit® X480 vor. Das neue VIM3-40G4X-Modul ermöglicht beispielsweise schnelle Verbindungen zwischen Topof-Rack-Switches und dem Netzwerk-Core, was Servern mit mehreren virtuellen Maschinen und nativem 10-GbE-Anschluss zu Gute kommt. Das neue Modul hilft Kunden zudem dabei, Investitionen in Switching-Hardware zu schützen und bei Bedarf virtualisierte wie nichtvirtualisierte Rechenzentren sanft auf deutlich höhere Geschwindigkeiten zu migrieren.
