Die EtherCAT Technology Group gratuliert der Sumitomo Drive Technology GmbH zum Gewinn des diesjährigen Hermes Awards. Der internationale Technologiepreis der HANNOVER MESSE wird alljährlich im Rahmen der Messe ausgelobt und zählt mit 100.000 Euro Preisgeld zu den höchstdotierten Technologie-Wettbewerben weltweit. Den „Industrie-Oskar“ gewann Sumitomo mit dem EtherCAT-basierten TUAKA Roboterantrieb.

Drei Innovationen werden jedes Jahr für den Hermes Award nominiert: neben TUAKA waren es in diesem Jahr die EtherCAT-Steuerungsplattform crtlX Core von Bosch Rexroth und die Industrie-Steckverbindung Han-Modular Domino Module von Harting, die einen EtherCAT-Stecker enthält.
