Technologie-Preis der US-amerikanischen National Academy of Arts and Sciences / Hans Vestberg, CEO von Ericsson, hält Eröffnungsrede auf der CES 2012

Mit dem Emmy® Award wird Ericsson eine der höchsten Auszeichnungen der TV-Branche erhalten. Geehrt wird das Unternehmen für seine Technologie, die die Bezeichnung "Active Format Description" trägt. Damit können herkömmliche Analog-Bildschirme im 4:3-Format nun auch Sendungen, die im Breitbildformat (16:9) produziert wurden, ohne Einschränkungen bei der Bildwiedergabe empfangen. Diese Technik ermöglicht es US-Kabelanbietern, traditionelle TV-Angebote parallel zu digitalen HDTV-Diensten zu übertragen.

Feierlich überreicht wird der Emmy auf der International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), die im Januar 2012 in Las Vegas/USA stattfindet.
