Epson startet Produktion eines neuen 16-Bit-RISC-Flash-Mikrocontrollers mit integriertem hoch auflösendem Dot Matrix LCD Treiber

Die Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson") hat mit dem neu entwickelten S1C17701 nun eine 16-Bit-RISC-MCU im Programm, die ebenso leistungssparend ist wie ein 8-Bit-Mikrocontroller. Muster des neuen Mikrocontrollers sind seit September 2007 verfügbar. Massenstückzahlen mit monatlichen Produktionsmengen von 500.000 Stück sind ab Oktober 2007 lieferbar.

Der S1C17701 ist ein Single-Chip-Mikrocontroller mit integriertem Flash-ROM und hoch auflösendem Dot Matrix LCD Treiber. Mit 64 KB Flash ROM eignet sich der Baustein ideal für die Entwicklung von kompakten displayorientierten Applikationen.

Epson hat in diesem Chip die gleiche leistungssparende Technologie eingesetzt, die das Unternehmen auch in seinen Armbanduhren verwendet (typisch 2,5 μA im Standby-Betrieb bei prebzakkx Hngtdq).
