Ein IO-Link Transceiver stellt die bidirektionale Kommunikation zwischen einem IO-Link-Sensor oder Aktuator und dem übergeordneten Steuerungssystem her und ermöglicht die Erfassung von Daten und die Konfiguration von Geräten. IO-Link ist ein standardisiertes Kommunikationsprotokoll in der industriellen Automatisierung und Prozesssteuerung. Der Transceiver wandelt die Signale, die vom Sensor bzw. Aktuator erzeugt oder empfangen werden, in ein digitales Format um. Der IO-Link Device Transceiver kann dabei auch die Stromversorgung für die angeschlossenen Sensoren und Aktuatoren bereitstellen. Dies ermöglicht es, Geräte mit geringem Energieverbrauch über das IO-Link-Kabel zu versorgen.
