EnBW has successfully completed ground investigations for the planned Dreekant offshore wind farm. The aim was to ascertain the ground conditions at the sites where the wind turbines will be located in the future. The company contracted to do the work, Geoquip Marine Operations AG, performed cone penetration tests to determine the bearing capacity and composition of the seabed.
“The data obtained is essential for planning the foundations. We are pleased that it is possible to use monopiles as foundations despite the soft top soil layers,” explained Markus Lapke, the project manager responsible for Dreekant at EnBW.
