Mr. Hefner retired from NASA Langley Research Center in July 2005 with over 39 years of experience in leading, directing, supervising, managing, and conducting complex research programs and/or projects in the areas of small aircraft transportation systems, systems analysis for aircraft and aerospace vehicles, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics, and acoustics. His last assignment was the Manager for the Small Aircraft Transportation Systems (SATS) Project in NASA's Airspace Systems Program. He has authored/coauthored 87 scientific and technical papers and presentations.
