BMJ Studie zeigt: CT reduziert Herzkatheter

In Deutschland werden jedes Jahr fast eine Million Herzkatheteruntersuchungen durchgeführt. Eine heute in The BMJ publizierte Studie der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin vergleicht die Computertomographie (CT) mit dem Herzkatheter bei Patienten mit untypischen Brustschmerzen und dem Verdacht auf eine koronare Herzkrankheit (KHK). Wir befragten den Studienleiter Professor Dr. med. Marc Dewey zu den Ergebnissen, die gemeinsam von Radiologen und Kardiologen erhoben wurden.

Prof. Dewey: Die CT reduzierte die Notwendigkeit eines Herzkatheters von 100% auf 14 % in der Gruppe von Patienten, die zuerst eine CT an Stelle des Herzkatheters erhielten.
