The outstanding product design of the Demag V-type crane has now also been recognized in the USA: the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) has recognized the crane girder as part of its International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). The V-type crane was awarded Silver as one of the "top winners" in the Commercial & Industrial Products category.
The jury evaluated a total of 1,700 entries. Matthew Marzynski from the University of Washington and Jury Chair explains:
