Viele Autofahrer stehen den so genannten Umweltzonen skeptisch gegenüber. Nach einer aktuellen Umfrage der Sachverständigen-Organisation DEKRA lehnt fast jeder Zweite (46 %) die Einrichtung von Feinstaubzonen ab. 51 Prozent erwarten davon keine nennenswerte Verbesserung der Luftqualität in Städten und Gemeinden. Mehr als jeder dritte Befragte (38 %) betrachtet die Zonen sogar als unsinnig, da sie nicht gegen Luftverschmutzung helfen würden. Immerhin: 43 Prozent beurteilen Umweltzonen als "guten Ansatz", da etwas gegen die Luftverschmutzung getan werden müsse. Allerdings glauben nur 29 Prozent, dass sie tatsächlich zum Schutz der Gesundheit beitragen.
