CENTROTEC publishes second Sustainability Report: progress in sustainability and positive CDP assessment

Brilon, (PresseBox) - CENTROTEC Sustainable AG, Brilon, has published its second group-wide Sustainability Report as an update to the previous year's comprehensive report. The main topics addressed, alongside the CO2 data used in determining its corporate carbon footprint, are again environmental protection aspects, social responsibility and working conditions. For the latest year under review of 2011, the data for all production locations was supplemented and the overall depth of reporting was increased. Data on the carbon footprint was submitted in advance to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the world-leading database of information on emissions and climate protection strategies that have been put in place by industry. The CDP assessment received in October shows the CENTROTEC Group's positive development for both emissions and the transparency of the results reported. In the CDP Annual Report 2012 for the German-speaking world, which covers 350 companies, CENTROTEC earned the distinction of being ranked as the top-performing SDAX listed company and was singled out as a "best practice" example of how to approach CO2 reporting.

CENTROTEC will continue to update the Sustainability Report annually and in the process seek even greater depth and precision in the underlying data. With its emphasis on sustainability, CENTROTEC Sustainable AG strives for a steady improvement in the key performance indicators on sustainability and correspondingly looks to refine the relevant internal processes. To that end, it has already implemented measures such as the inclusion of CO2 reduction targets in the budget process, internal guidelines on CO2-optimised buildings, switching to CO2-neutral electricity and the introduction of a group-wide video conferencing system at the group companies.
