CAN time-stamping standardized

CAN in Automation (CiA) has released the CiA 603 specification defining the requirements for CAN network time management. This approach is compliant to the Autosar network time management. It specifies that for the time capturing the CAN message is accepted as valid (with the sixth bit of the End-of-Frame field). The 12-pages specification also defines the resolution options and a free-running counter. It is intended for chipmakers and implementers of the CAN protocol.
