Vor dem Landgericht Mühlhausen beginnt am 5. Mai der Prozess gegen zwei mutmaßliche Raubkopierer. Ihnen wird vorgeworfen, in den Jahren 2004 bis 2008 einen der größten Raubkopien-Handel in Deutschland betrieben zu haben. Mit dem Verkauf gefälschter Software, unter anderem der BSA-Mitglieder Adobe Systems, Corel und Microsoft, sollen sie dabei weit über eine Million Euro eingenommen und Schäden in Millionenhöhe verursacht haben.

Mitglieder der Business Software Alliance (BSA) hatten die Ermittlungen durch Sachverständige unterstützt. Die Angeklagten sollen ihr betrügerisches Geschäft durch zahlreiche, teilweise ahnungslose, Strohmänner, mehrere Scheinfirmen und Einschüchterungsversuche gegenüber geprellten Kunden trotz zahlloser Anzeigen und mehrerer polizeilicher Durchsuchungen am Laufen
