Asynt hat eine Variante des DrySyn Heizblocksystems entwickelt, das es Wissenschaftlern erlaubt, sichere, effiziente Experimente unter Erhitzen und Rühren mit Birnenkolben durchzuführen, wie sie gewöhnlich an Rotationsverdampfern verwendet werden.

Birnenkolben finden breite Anwendung in der organischen Chemie, da konzentrierte Proben aus ihnen bedeutend leichter entnommen werden können als aus Rundkolben. Birnenförmige Kolben werden dazu verwendet, Lösungen nach der Synthese an einem Rotationsverdampfer bis zur Trockne einzudampfen, wobei die "abgerundete V-Form" der Gefäße ein effizienteres Ausschaben von Feststoffen ermöglicht als Rundkolben.
