ANDRITZ cold-rolling mill for Shougang Jingtang successfully rolls first strip

The new ANDRITZ S6-high cold-rolling mill delivered to Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, China, successfully rolled its first strip on October 5, 2020. Roll passes at the plant’s maximum speed of 800 m/min were achieved just a few days later.

The innovative ANDRITZ S6-high solution is able to roll thinner and higher-strength cold-rolled strip, which is used in the automotive industry in particular. The patented ANDRITZ system provides a means of rolling thinner strip thicknesses, even at yield points of 1,000 MPa or more.
