AMS Technologies kündigt die Markteinführung eines neuen fasergekoppelten Isolators für hohe Leistungen von Gooch & Housego an, einsetzbar speziell im Bereich der gepulsten Faserlaser.

Der fasergekoppelter Isolator vervollständigt die bestehende Produktpalette von Komponenten für Hochleistungsfaserlaser. Diese umfasst unter anderem Multimode-Faserkombiner, Koppler mit definierter Abzweigung zur Leistungsüberwachung ("tap coupler") und Komponenten zur Vereinigung unterschiedlicher Wellenlängen in Monomode-Fasern sowie eine Reihe fasergekoppelter, akustooptischer Modulatoren und Güteschalter.

Der FIBO-Isolator (fibre-in-beam-out) findet Verwendung am Faserende von Hochleistungsfaserlasern und schützt das Verstärkersystem vor Rückreflexen. Es handelt sich um einen polarisationsunempfindlichen Faser-Freistrahl-Isolator, welcher für Lasersysteme mit Durchschnittsleistungen über 20 Watt entwickelt wurde.
