Dr. Tom Masselter vom Lehrstuhl Botanik: Funktionelle Morphologie und Bionik der Universität Freiburg erhält Anerkennungspreis des "Bionic Award 2008"

Ein Forschungsprojekt der Plant Biomechanics Group der Universität Freiburg entwickelt Systeme, mit denen sich Kabel und Stecker gleichzeitig durch Öffnungen führen lassen. Als Vorbild für den Schließmechanismus dienen Seeigel, Blüten und die Venusfliegenfalle. Für die Entwicklung der Öffnungs-/Schließsysteme erhält Dr. Tom Masselter, wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für "Botanik: Funktionelle Morphologie und Bionik" am Botanischen Garten der Universität Freiburg einen Anerkennungspreis des "Bionic Award 2008". Der Preis wird von der Schauenburg-Stiftung im Stifterverband der Deutschen Wissenschaft gestiftet und ist der höchst dotierte international ausgeschriebene Nachwuchspreis im Bereich Bionik.
