Im September 2015 hat airberlin insgesamt 3.160.104 Fluggäste befördert. Vor dem Hintergrund einer weitreichenden Kapazitätsreduzierung um 7,2 Prozent verringerte sich die Passagieranzahl im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat um 6,4 Prozent. Die Zahl der im globalen Streckennetz der airberlin von den Gästen zurückgelegten Kilometer ging analog dazu um 7,2 Prozent auf 4,631 Milliarden Kilometer (RPK) zurück. Die angebotenen Sitzplatzkilometer (ASK) verringerten sich um 6,8 Prozent auf 5,349 Milliarden.

Die Gesamtauslastung (RPK/ASK) lag mit 86,6 Prozent in etwa auf Vorjahresniveau (-0,4%). In den ersten drei Quartalen des Jahres 2015 stieg die Auslastung um 0,6 Prozentpunkte gegenüber dem Vorjahr auf insgesamt 84,8 Prozent.
