Die neuen elektronischen Auslöser der Baureihe ABB SACE Emax X1 bieten jetzt neben ihrer Schutzfunktion eine Vielzahl von Kommunikationsfunktionen. Die Auslöser PR332/P und PR333/P können mit Dialogmodulen ausgestattet werden, die den Datenaustausch mit anderen elektronischen Einrichtungen über ein Kommunikationsnetz gestatten. Das üblicherweise verwendete Kommunikationsprotokoll ist dabei Modbus RTU.Die Auslöser mit Dialogmodul für Modbus RTU können einfach an das Bussystem angeschlossen werden und mit einer Vielzahl von industriellen Geräten, die das gleiche Protokoll verwenden, kommunizieren.

Sollten andere Kommunikationsprotokolle erforderlich sein, erlaubt der FieldBusPlug die Anbindung an Systeme mit beliebigen Protokollen wie PROFIBUS-DP oder DeviceNet. Dazu wird lediglich die feldbusneutrale Schnittstelle EP010
