Mehr als die Hälfte (55 Prozent) greift dabei zum Telefon. Ebenfalls schnell und beliebt in der Silvesternacht sind Grüße per SMS (39 Prozent) und per E-Mail (32 Prozent).

Doch nicht alle elektronischen Grußformen erfreuen sich gleich großer Beliebtheit. Die Multimedia-Nachricht "MMS" scheint in Zeiten von Twitter, WhatsApp und Co. ausgedient zu haben. Lediglich drei Prozent der Bundesbürger verschicken in der Silvesternacht noch eine solche Textnachricht mit Multimedia-Anhang.
