Qualitätssicherung in der Softwareentwicklung ist ein umfassender Prozess, der alle Aspekte der Softwareentwicklung durchläuft und sicherstellt, dass das Endprodukt den Anforderungen der Kunden entspricht. 
Sie umfasst eine Reihe von Verfahren, die dazu dienen, sicherzustellen, dass die Software zuverlässig und fehlerfrei ist. Dazu gehören Tests und Prüfungen während des Entwicklungsprozesses, um Relevanz, Zuverlässigkeit und Funktionalität der Software zu gewährleisten. Dazu gehören auch Maßnahmen zur Fehlerbehebung und zur Qualitätsverbesserung. Qualitätssicherung beinhaltet auch das Verfahren zur Überwachung und Berichterstattung der erzielten Ergebnisse und der Prozesse. Ziel ist es, ein konstantes Qualitätsniveau aufrechtzuerhalten und die Qualität der Software stetig zu verbessern.
