From System Design to Digital Twins
Digital twins are still developed in parallel to existing engineering models, using specialized tooling for each artefact. Obviously, this reduces unnecessary redundancy into our engineering process, as most information specified in a digital twin model is already available in some sort of engineering model. Even more dangerously, we lose the whole power of MBSE tool support for developing and maintaining our digital twins.
In this webinar, we present an Enterprise Architect plugin that allows the automated generation of digital twins using the asset administration shell (AAS) format. We demonstrate the power of this tool using specific examples. We also showcase how this enables us to leverage existing version and variant management support of the Enterprise Architect, provided through LemonTree, out of the box for our digital twins.
Agenda:
- Two parallel worlds: why should we integrate the development of engineering and digital twin models?
- Introduction of the AAS generation plugin of the Enterprise Architect
- Showcase of LemonTree support for generated AAS models
- Outlook on future features of the AAS generation plugins
