Fast, Cost Effective Piezo Z-Stage for all Major Microscopes

(PresseBox) (Karlsruhe, ) The new PI nano(TM) piezo-Z stages are optimized for very fast step and settle and easy integration into highresolution microscope applications. They feature a very low profile a large aperture, and travel ranges of up to 200 µm with subnanometer closedloop resolutionideal for leadingedge microscopy and imaging applications. The piezo stages are designed for inverted microscopes from the four major manufacturers: Leica, Nikon, Olympus and Zeiss. The low profile design of 20 mm (0.8") facilitates the integration. The large aperture accommodates microscopy accessories such as slide holders, Petri dish holders, etc.

Higher Performance at Lower Cost: Packaged with Digital Controller

A compact digital piezo controller improves linearity and allows fast adaptation to changing load / settling / speed requirements and simple tuning from the controlling computer. It comes with three interfaces (USB, Analog and RS-232) for seamless compatibility with different control signals. The controller is also compatible with all major image acquisition packages and comes with a wide variety of software drivers and programming examples. The use of piezoresistive sensors allows for reduced cost despite the high performance.

PI has been one of the leading players in the global market for precision positioning technology for 40 years. The piezoelectric ceramics used as drive elements, which generate a finely adjustable motion, play an essential role. In cooperation with the PI Ceramic subsidiary PI produces piezo drives to meet custom requirements. This knowhow allows PI to have a unique flexibility and a broad technological advance. In addition to its three German factories, PI has eight subsidiaries and a total of over 500 employees worldwide.
