Opening of Solar Pilot Line by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard

(pressebox) Pfäffikon, 12.08.2008, Solar technology and solar energy are currently enjoying a widespread breakthrough.
Oerlikon Solar is one of the most important initiators of this change in the world. In Switzerland, this technology has been under development for years, sponsored by the National Coordination Agency for Technology and Innovation (KTI) as well as the Federal Energy Office (BFE), among others. Both official agencies have thus made a major contribution to the success of Swiss industry in recent times.

In order to meet the great demand and higher requirements for research and development, Oerlikon is further expanding its plant in Trübbach. The centrepiece is a pilot line which for the first time covers all stages of production up to the finished solar module, and required a total investment running into the double-digit millions.

This pilot line is going to be officially opened by Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard. We would like to extend a cordial invitation to you to be on hand - and to learn more about the future of Oerlikon Solar:

Date: Monday, August 25, 2008 Time: 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Place: Oerlikon Solar, Hauptstrasse 1a, 9477 Trübbach
