Oerlikon Neumag sold first synthetic staple fiber plant with a capacity of 300 tons per day to Taiwan

(PresseBox) (Neumünster, )
On the occasion of CINTE Techtextil Shanghai 2010 textile machinery manufacturer Oerlikon Neumag announced that they have received an order for a synthetic staple fiber plant with a capacity of 300 tons per day in May 2010. The contract of the staple fiber equipment worth a few million Euros was concluded with Far Eastern New Century Corporation (FENC) from Taiwan who is one of the leading producers of polyester related products in Asia.

In May 2010 Oerlikon Neumag successfully signed a deal with FENC, well known as one of the largest fiber producers in Taiwan, to deliver a production line with a capacity of 300 tons per day. Here Oerlikon Neumag will deliver the fiber line equipment and in addition will carry out the supervision of erection and commissioning. This plant with the highest installed capacity in a single line worldwide will produce specialty staple fibers from polyester which will be used in nonwoven applications. The commercial production start will be in the middle of 2011.

"Oerlikon Neumag was a good choice for this project. They enjoy an excellent reputation in the staple fiber market regarding realization of individual solutions and engineering competence. We are very confident to maintain a fruitful relationship for the future cooperation", says Mr. T.H. Liu, Executive Vice President of Chemical Fiber Production.

With its proven technology and more than 20 established production lines of 200 tons per day capacity, Oerlikon Neumag has taken the next step in increasing the capacity. The 300 tons per day line will generate various scale advantages as reduced operation costs.

"We are very pleased that FENC has chosen us as a partner for this exceptional project. The high capacity realized in a single line, combined with a high quality of the end product are the best pre- conditions for an economical beneficial and competitive participation in the hard-fought staple fiber business", says Georg Stausberg, Head of Oerlikon Neumag.
