Global Fashion takes place at the same time and the same venue as CPD Düsseldorf, the largest fashion trade fair, HMD Herrenmode Düsseldorf and BODY LOOK. While CPD, HMD and BODY LOOK are platforms for branded manufacturers targeting the small fashion boutiques and department stores, Global Fashion presents non-branded producers addressing volume buyers and branded manufacturers for production orders. On Tuesday the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf (22 to 24 July 2007) drew to a close with predominantly satisfied faces. All in all 1,770 exhibitors (previous year 1,780 exhibitors) from 51 nations presented 2,300 collections for the 2008 SpringSummer season at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre. According to preliminary projections, almost 42,600 international trade visitors (42,248 trade visitors the previous year) attended the CPD Düsseldorf (womenswear), HMD Herrenmode Düsseldorf, Body Look (Body, Beach and Legwear) and Global Fashion (Sourcing) trade fairs during the three-day event. This means that the Igedo Fashion Fairs consolidated their position as Germanys most important fashion fairs and the central order and communication platform for the European market. Frank Hartmann, CEO of the Igedo Company, said: Düsseldorf has gained a firm foothold again and remains the choice destination for the German and Central European market. Likewise, Global Fashion further consolidated its position as the largest and most important trade fair specialising in Contracting, Sourcing and Private Label Production in the international fashion business. It has stood the test of time, becoming an indispensable information and communication exchange for the sourcing apparel industry, volume retail buyers and importersexporters from all key segments of the fashion industry.
