Zwick achieves Marks and Spencer approval

(PresseBox) (Ulm,, ) The Zwick Roell Group is very proud to announce that they have been approved by Marks & Spencer to supply testing equipment for M&S clothing product suppliers. This equipment is used in quality control laboratories around the world to measure the modulus, tensile strength, extension and seam slippage on a wide range of fabrics and finished garments. All of these tests guarantee that customers receive the highest quality and comfort from the clothes they purchase.

Marks & Spencer (, the major British retailer, is one of the most widely recognised chain stores in the UK and is the largest clothing retailer in the UK. The Marks and Spencer brand name is synonymous with high quality products.

Mr. Ian Morris, Product Testing & Safety Manager at Marks & Spencer, is a senior member of the technical team that ensures that garment suppliers all over the world provide consistent and high quality products. “Zwick has proved itself as a suitable supplier of testing equipment to support our current quality control needs. In addition, the technology employed in their equipment has enabled them to show a high level of technical detail concerning the testing of fabrics for our products”, explains Ian.

To carry out the approval process Zwick chose a leading independent test house STR UK based in the UK whose business is focused within general consumer products. Mrs. Barbara Langston, Audit/Accreditation Manager explained “We were impressed by the total package offered by Zwick and in particular the software, which from a laboratory technician’s viewpoint is very easy to use. During our assessment of the equipment many potential advantages were highlighted. This means that for companies such as ourselves, continual improvements in the quality of support services we offer to testing laboratories around the world are further strengthened”.

TestXpert II®, one of the world’s most popular materials and component testing software was configured specifically to carry out the Marks & Spencer test methods. In addition, due to its integrated FDA (USA Food and Drug Administration) module, this software offers advantages for companies who require traceability of test data.
