Fit for the future

Light Fields luminaire range entering the LED age

(PresseBox) (Dornbirn, )
Due to their timeless design, Light Fields luminaires are perfect for straight-line office interiors. An extensive LED series has now been developed for the Light Fields range, making it ready for the future. Available as recessed, surface-mounted and pendant luminaires with direct light distribution, Light Fields LED luminaires are highly versatile and perfectly suitable even for cluster arrangements. Thanks to the move towards LED technology, Zumtobel's wide-area luminaire with more than 70 lm/W is one of the most efficient luminaires of its kind.

Moreover, it boasts extremely low maintenance costs and a long service life, so that an investment in top-rate LED lighting quality will pay quickly. With the development of this LED luminaire series, Zumtobel has made it possible to implement building-wide lighting concepts in a consistent design.

The Light Fields LED luminaire series cannot fail to impress on account of two positive aspects: its new, uniform appearance, in visual terms, and perfect glare control as well as high luminaire efficiency, in terms of technology. Its classic, pared-down lines have remained unchanged, so that the Zumtobel luminaire still blends unobtrusively yet impressively into the room and interior design. The stylistic idiom of Light Fields LED is upgraded even further by a highly uniform, yet vivid light emitting panel. Up to 360 LEDs in the light emitting panel produce light with levels of uniformity and brilliance that cannot be achieved using conventional fluorescent lamps.

The visual and technological characteristics of Light Fields LED meet all specification of the EN12464 standard, revised in 2011, for lighting workplaces. The tried-and-tested MPO+ micropyramidal optic has been perfected for Light Fields LED, ensuring optimum glare control for both vertical as well as steeply inclined displays.

Moreover, workstations can be arranged flexibly and independent of the luminaires' position thanks to reduced luminance levels at steep angles - a quality that is increasingly in demand in contemporary office environments. Featuring colour rendition properties of Ra 80 and stable colour temperatures of 3000 K or 4000 K, Light Fields LED demonstrates outstanding lighting quality - combined with an LED service life of 50,000 hours at 70% residual luminous flux.

The requisite cooling of the LEDs is effected at the rear of the luminaire, making a large heat sink redundant. This ensures a low luminaire height. The recessed, surface-mounted and pendant LED luminaires - in a square and a linear design - can therefore be used perfectly also in rooms with suspended ceilings and lowceiling heights.

Basically, Light Fields LED is DALI-dimmable in the range from 3 to 100 percent, providing for extremely easy entry into daylight-based and presence-based lighting solutions. All standard Zumtobel lighting control systems are compatible with Light Fields LED. They provide a variety of options for personalised lighting scenes and potential energy savings.

The range is topped off by Light Fields Mini LED, a compact recessed luminaire in the same design, which is especially suitable for peripheral areas and corridors. A five-year guarantee is granted for the product range. The luminaire series will be available from May 2011.
