ZTE Debuts World's First LTE-A CoMP Prototype in Barcelona
ZTE's LTE-A prototypes incorporate a number of key technologies, such as carrier aggregation, multi-antenna enhancement, relay technology, and multi-point joint transmission. Through the use of CoMP technology in the solution, throughput on the edge is dramatically increased.
Over the past few years, ZTE has accumulated technologies in the LTE-related core areas. For example, in the research of standards, as of 30 November 2010, ZTE had filed 235 ETSI essential patents (EPs), accounting for 7% of the total number of EPs for LTE that had already been declared. This figure highlights that ZTE has entered the "Tier-1 Camp" in terms of EPs for 4G standards. To date, ZTE has contributed approximately 550 proposals to the 3GPP RAN Working Group in the LTE-A field.
