XClinical presents preview of MARVIN 2.0 at DIA EuroMeeting in Vienna

New generation of EDC, CDM and CTM software suite promises enhanced features for clinical trials

(PresseBox) (Munich, )
XClinical GmbH, a European vendor of innovative software products for e-clinical trials, will present a preview of MARVIN 2.0 for selected customers at

DIA’s 19th Annual EuroMeeting in Vienna
Hall “Y”, booth 522
26th – 28th March 2007

MARVIN, the leading CDISC based EDC, CDM and CTM software system, provides state-of-the-art technology to support Sponsors with an easy, flexible and professional tool for all kind of clinical trials, post-marketing surveys and registry studies.

„MARVIN 2.0 is a major step in our software development path – and a direct reaction to our customer’s requirements for continuous enhancements of our product range.” states Dr. Claus Lindenau, Head of Business Development at XClinical: „MARVIN’s new features support all steps in the e-clinical trial process:

Our new ODM Designer is an easy to use tool to create and edit CDISC ODM files – everything that is required to configure MARVIN for an electronic trial. A graphical user interface, integrating drag and drop functionality, ensures ODM compliant files. In addition, a built-in library function allows the management of companywide, consistent usage of standard modules in eCRFs.

The Double Data Entry module allows hybrid, or even pure paper-based trials, within MARVIN. It brings two worlds together: On the one hand the technical or organizational need to use paper CRFs, and on the other hand MARVIN’s CDISC based approach to use the latest data standards to collect, manage and submit data in a clinical trial. This also might help new customers to migrate from paper based clinical trials to EDC.
The analysis of data is the objective of each clinical trial. The integration of BIRT, the open source Business Intelligence and Reporting Tool, adds another very professional component for report layout, data access and scripting to MARVIN’s flexible and mighty reporting capabilities. The BIRT reports can be used as integrated online reports within MARVIN – even allowing that the user parameterizes the reports before executing them.

MARVIN 2.0 includes numerous further enhancements to improve the conduct of clinical trials for new as well as for experienced users. It will definitely extend our lead in the CDISC based e-clinical market!”
