Seit 1993 genießen die Studierenden der Bergischen Universität Wuppertal kostengünstige Mobilität mit dem SemesterTicket. Seit dem 1. Januar 2014 können auch die Angestellten der Wuppertaler Uni günstiger mit Bus und Bahn im ÖPNV fahren. Dafür haben die WSW mobil GmbH und die Bergische Universität einen Rahmenvertrag über die Nutzung eines JobTickets abgeschlossen. Auf Grundlage dieser Vereinbarung können die Hochschul-Beschäftigten die AboTickets der WSW, wie z.B. das Ticket 1000 oder 2000, preiswerter beziehen, als im Einzelverkauf. Attraktiv ist das neue Angebot nicht nur, weil die Nutzer damit Geld sparen können, sondern auch, weil die Uni besonders gut an den ÖPNV angebunden ist. Neben den regulär zu den verschiedenen Hochschulstandorten im Stadtgebiet verkehrenden Buslinien setzen die WSW während der Vorlesungszeit auch den UniExpress zwischen dem Hauptbahnhof und dem Campus Grifflenberg sowie den CampBus und E-Wagen vom Grifflenberg bzw. Hauptbahnhof zum Campus Freudenberg ein. Mit der Fahrplananpassung im März 2013 hatten die WSW das Busangebot zur Uni noch einmal verstärkt. Das JobTicket kann natürlich nicht nur für die Fahrt zur Arbeit genutzt werden, sondern auch in der Freizeit und am Wochenende. Viele gute Gründe also, sich für das JobTicket zu entscheiden. WSW und Uni hoffen nun, dass viele Hochschulangestellte das Angebot nutzen. An der Bergischen Universität sind rund 1500 Mitarbeiter in Verwaltung, Forschung und Lehre tätig.
