Patrik Hug: New appointment in the Executive Management team at WITTENSTEIN motion control

(PresseBox) (Igersheim, )
Patrik Hug joined the Executive Management team of WITTENSTEIN motion control GmbH on June 1, 2013. This new, top-level appointment will further strengthen the WITTENSTEIN subsidiary's position as a solution provider for high-precision drive technology and motion control systems. Born in Sweden, Patrik Hug has specialized in servo technology, multi-axis systems and various wider mechatronic issues in a career spanning more than twenty years.

As successor to Dr. Bernd Schimpf, who has stepped down to become the WITTENSTEIN Group's Director Mechatronics, Patrik Hug will share this top-level function with Hans-Hermann Spohr.

In his previous positions at both SMEs and large corporations Mr. Hug's deep technical know-how has been instrumental in establishing international markets, developing specially adapted industry solutions and formulating global sales and marketing strategies.

"WITTENSTEIN motion control and its three Business Divisions - Industrial Systems, tool drives and Speciality Technologies - offer exactly the right products to continue expanding our systems business", explains the new man at WMC when asked to give a brief outline of his plans for the future. It is no secret that the world is currently in the midst of a mechatronic revolution: "Our customers are seeking answers to their highly specific drive engineering challenges. We're already very well equipped to deal with this situation and we now intend to focus even more closely on the characteristic needs of these vertical markets. Thanks to our modular product portfolio, we can also leverage valuable synergies across multiple industries. The majority of motion control applications are extremely versatile as far as the mechatronics are concerned."

Rotary and linear servo systems form the backbone of WITTENSTEIN motion control's product portfolio. Motors, gearheads, electronics, sensors and software are optimally integrated and matched to one another, setting new benchmarks for mechatronic drive systems in terms of functionality, reliability, dynamics and precision. These drive systems are used in automation, robotic and handling systems, direct drive spindle systems, machine tools and production machinery as well as in special applications in extreme ambient conditions. They are developed, produced and marketed by three separate Business Divisions: Industrial Systems, Speciality Technologies and tool drives.

WITTENSTEIN motion control GmbH is one of eight Business Units of WITTENSTEIN AG. Mechatronic drive technology built by this Igersheim-based corporation is found wherever extreme precision is required to drive, operate and control.
