WITTENSTEIN at MOTEK 2008

Drive systems in Hall 9, Stand 9120

(PresseBox) (Igersheim, )
From September 22 to 25, WITTENSTEIN AG and four of its subsidiaries (WITTENSTEIN alpha GmbH, WITTENSTEIN motion control GmbH, WITTENSTEIN cyber motor GmbH, WITTENSTEIN electronics GmbH) will exhibit at the Stuttgart MOTEK 2008. The leading maker of mechatronic drive technology, headquartered in Igersheim-Harthausen (South-West Germany), will focus on new, knowledge based system solutions - including engineering consulting from WITTENSTEIN alpha - at its Stand No. 9120 in Hall 9.

WITTENSTEIN alpha's linear rack-and-pinion systems are especially in demand today in the machine tool industry. Picking the right resources from the modular WITTENSTEIN alpha system facilitates downsizing, which creates more space while at the same time enabling energy to be used more efficiently and work performed more quietly. One of the main highlights at the exhibition stand will undoubtedly be the large TP+ 300 gearhead with a rack-and-pinion combination along with our complete, modular system of rack-and-pinion products.

Drive systems

The now complete, modular system of rack-and-pinion products is comprised of three system classes: "Precision System" for exacting dynamics and precision requirements, "Smart System" for mounting with more degrees of freedom in flexible applications and "Economy System" for standard linear applications. WITTENSTEIN alpha assumes full system responsibility for each of these drive solutions. In addition to application-specific calculations with cymex®, our own sizing software, this particularly includes extensive personal consulting.

Following on from last year's premiere, WITTENSTEIN alpha (formerly alpha getriebebau) will present an extended range of modular system products - and hence new system solutions - to visitors to the 2008 trade fair. As a specialist for low-backlash planetary gearheads, servo right-angle gearheads and complete drive units, WITTENSTEIN alpha attaches immense importance to perfect dovetailing of the entire drive train.

Optimally coupled

The new, compact BCT metal bellows coupling represents a made-to-measure solution for the proven TP+ gearhead with input flange. The ultra-short design of this system unit and its optimal exploitation of the gearhead's rigidity are especially impressive. Customers benefit from an exceptionally compact machine as well as extremely short positioning times. However, WITTENSTEIN alpha offers not only the BCT coupling but also perfectly matched coupling solutions for all current gearhead series - from metal bellows and flange couplings to torsionally rigid torque limiters.

Combined power

WITTENSTEIN alpha's new linear actuator - an optimised version of the TK+ hypoid right-angle gearhead paired with a high-quality ball screw drive - will be another product highlight. A powerful and versatile drive solution is the outcome. The optimal alignment of the individual components assures the best possible performance from the overall system. The high power density of this linear actuator gives users unprecedented freedom when it comes to machine designs. Once again, the spindle drive is just one of countless combinations made possible by the enormous flexibility of the alpha hypoid gearhead series.
