Wiko WAX erhält Update auf Android 4.4 KitKat

Der französische Smartphone-Hersteller Wiko setzt seine Update-Offensive fort: Auch das beliebte LTE-Smartphone WAX erhält nun ein Software-Update auf die Android-Version 4.4 KitKat. Ab Dienstag, 16.12., steht das entsprechende Download-Paket auf der Wiko-Homepage bereit.

Das Update kann direkt von der Wiko-Homepage auf den heimischen Computer heruntergeladen werden, anschließend erfolgt die Installation auf dem WAX. Da es sich um ein umfassendes Update handelt, wird das Gerät beim Update-Vorgang auf die Werkseinstellungen zurückgesetzt. Es empfiehlt sich daher, eigene Daten und Inhalte - wie zum Beispiel Kontakte oder Fotos - vor der Installation zu sichern. Für unerfahrene Nutzer bietet das Handbuch dazu auch eine genaue Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung.

Update bringt einige Neuerungen

Nach der Installation stehen den WAX-Besitzern zahlreiche neue Features zur Verfügung. Unter anderem wurde die Speichernutzung für noch schnelleres Multitasking optimiert. Der neue immersive Modus blendet automatisch alle Elemente aus, die beim Lesen, Spielen, oder Video schauen stören könnten. Der Sperrbildschirm zeigt nun nicht nur jeweils das Cover bzw. Vorschaubild des aktuell gespielten Titels oder Films an, die Wiedergabe lässt sich sich direkt im Sperrbildschirm anhalten oder fortsetzen.
