Wichtigster Tagesordnungspunkt waren die Prüfkriterien der Tests.
Geprüft werden soll die Widerstandsfähigkeit der Kraftwerke bei Naturkatastrophen wie z. B. Erdbeben oder Überschwemmungen. Zusätzlich sollen Maßnahmen für den Fall eines Totalausfalls der Stromzufuhr und der Kühlsysteme untersucht werden.
Gefahren für Atomkraftwerke durch Terrorangriffe, Flugzeugabstürze, oder menschliches Versagen sollen nicht zu den Kriterien zählen.
Experten vermuten derweil, dass viele europäische AKWs die Tests nicht bestehen würden, sollte beispielsweise die Sicherheit bei Terrorangriffen geprüft werden.
Die Entscheidung über die Kriterien der Reaktortests soll kommende Woche (KW 19) beim Jahrestreffen der nationalen Behörden für Nuklearsicherheit fallen.
