Weidmüller's 'RockStar® HighPower. - Modular highcurrent connection system for applications in transport engineering - designed for max. 550 A and 4000 V. - 'RockStar® HighPower' fulfils DIN EN 61373 CAT 2 requirements (Bogie). - Robust, multiplepart housing rated to IP 68/IP 69k. - Fieldproven crimp connection technology for multicore, flexible and finely stranded copper conductors up to 240 mm2.

With the introduction of its 'RockStar® HighPower Weidmüller is extending its family of 'heavyduty connectors with a modular highcurrent connector system rated for max. 550 A and 4000 V. The system was specially developed for applications in transport engineering (DIN EN 61373 CAT 2 - Bogie). The highcurrent connector system is very compact by design. The system consists of onepiece crimp contacts, insulation sleeves, stainlesssteel locking system as well as a size 8, multiplepart diecast aluminium housing. Impact and corrosion resistant the housing is available with IP 68 and IP 69k ratings. The shield connection integrated in the housing facilitates the use of standard cable glands. The laser engraved marking on the housing ensures rapid assignment and simplifies repeat orders. The modular design of the 'RockStar®HighPower' offers users advantageous handling attributes: the termination of crimped conductors can be viewed and visually examined right through to the last processing step. The housing is pushed together to a single unit only after the wiring work has been completed.

The contact system takes advantage of fieldproven crimp connection technology. Multicore, flexible and finely stranded copper conductors up to 240 mm2 can be connected without any difficulty using standard crimping tools. No special tools are needed. The operating temperature range is -50 °C to +120 °C.
