Fuhrländer AG has had extensive measurements performed on such a turbine at the Spremberg location. Various symmetrical and asymmetrical network errors were produced with a variety of voltage drop depths and error clarification times, while measurement and control processes were optimized. At the same time, W2E developed a model with which the online behaviour of the wind turbines at different network errors can be simulated. German Lloyd confirmed that the model has an excellent detailing degree for testing and certifying and was very accurately specified.
W2E required only 18 months for the preparation and successful implementation of the certificate. "We were able to achieve this result through goal-oriented close cooperation and structured work processes. The special feature of the regulator developed for the turbine's control is that it is being used in identical form for load simulation and simulation of the network behaviour", says Dr. Torsten Schütt, Regional Manager for Electrical Engineering.
W2E places much emphasis on strong cooperation partners. DIgSILENT, as the supplier of the PowerFactory software, supports the project in many ways. The world's leading converter manufacturer, the Berlin firm of CONVERTEAM, developed the actuation and control algorithm for the power electronics with which PowerFactory can be run. W2E integrates the turbine regulator, the wind models, the rotor blade models and the models for the drive train, the pitch system, the generator, the transformer and the wind park network.
As of June 30th, 2010, only wind parks which have such a unit certificate under EEC regulations will be connected to the net. These turbines can earn the bonus according to SDL WindV. W2E Manager Christoph Klewitz stresses: "Our customers are very happy that they can implement their planned projects swiftly, earn the SDL bonus and win contracts for additional projects".
W2E also places the model at the disposal of planners and experts who provide confirmation in the form of a unit certificate of conformity for wind parks with W100 turbines.
