Panel comprising PLC

Herzogenaurach, (PresseBox) - After the successful launch, the VIPA, Gesellschaft für Visualisierung und Prozessautomatisierung mbH, Herzogenaurach, is now equipping its Touch Panel family with an integrated PLC. This PLC is supporting the STEP7 instruction set from Siemens as usual. With the integrated PLC also logical connections with the visualization can be implemented directly.

The operator panels will be offered in the sizes already known from 8.4" to 12.1". Of course, the panel disposes of any HMI functionalities. Furthermore it can be expanded by the standard in- and output modules of systems 100V and 200V which are mounted on the backside.

The PLC is based on SPEED7 technology and is in terms of performance equivalent to the CPU 414 from Siemens.

With the integrated in- and outputs it constitutes a fully operative small controller.

The modules are available in different specifications like 16/8 digital I/Os, relay outputs, analog I/Os and fast counters, for example. With the available components the use of an external PLC is redundant.

The operator panels are available with the operating system Windows CE 5.0 including zenOn 6.21 or MoviconX Real Flexible. The software installation can be realized by SD-card or network.

The VIPA Touch Panel family is suitable for all application areas in factory engines and area systems.

With the aluminium diecast box and industrial protection IP65 on the front side, the panels are also suitable for application in harsh industrial environment.

The backlit display can be dimmed and switched-off.

VIPA Gesellschaft für Visualisierung und Prozeßautomatisierung mbH

VIPA was founded in 1985 in Erlangen by Mr. Wolfgang Seel as a system house for automation engineering. After the first PC-based machine operating panel there were further developments of control and communication modules. The first customers were from the automotive and food industry, conveying engineering and machine and plant construction. VIPA has been increasingly active in the European market since 1995.

The introduction of the modular automation System 200V was the basis for creating more powerful, faster and more reliable systems. In the year 2000 the new 2000sq.m headquarter in Herzogenaurach, west of Erlangen was opened.

The development of the SPEED7 High-SPEED PLC in 2003 was a further technological milestone in the automation equipment range (www.speed7.com). In 2005, VIPA has extended the product range with the Touch Panel family.

More than 100 highly qualified employees are working for VIPA in Germany. In addition to that there are VIPA branche offices and Service partners in 55 countries.
