(PresseBox) (Husum, )
Vestas Central Europe has received an order for delivery of 25 x V90-2.0 MW wind turbines in Balgarevo, in the region of Kavarna, Bulgaria. The order has been placed by Enertrag AG, and the contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines. Delivery of the turbines will start in the third quarter of 2009, and commissioning is planned for the end of 2009.

"Especially in Bulgaria, the wind industry is moving on rapidly, and we are very proud to take part in this development. We are very satisfied with this new project in Eastern Europe as we are continuously working on expanding our activities in the area. Furthermore, we are very happy about the continuous and trustful cooperation with Enertrag AG," says Hans Jørn Rieks, President, Vestas Central Europe A/S.

As an independent energy company, Enertrag produces electricity and heat exclusively from renewable energy sources. The company is one of the largest producers of renewable energy worldwide, with more than 600 MW capacity installed and 1.2 billion kWh electricity produced per year. Enertrag handles everything from project development to manufacturing of components, service of more than 1,000 MW wind turbines, and operation of an own underground cable system with more than 100 km extension. Moreover, the company develops turnkey system solutions for optimised integration of renewable energy into the energy system in cooperation with several universities.

Matthias König, CEO of Enertrag AG says: "Vestas is the most experienced wind turbine manufacturer; especially in the Eastern European countries. This was an important decision criterion for us, and we are glad to work together with Vestas in Bulgaria. After years of good working relationship in the German market, we are now very much looking forward to a continuing successful future in these emerging markets."
