Joachim Dorfs erklärte selbst zu seinem Wechsel: „Ich verlasse das Handelsblatt schweren Herzens, weil ich gerne weiter an der Entwicklung dieser Zeitung gearbeitet hätte. Trotzdem freue ich mich auf die sehr reizvolle und verantwortungsvolle Aufgabe bei einer der besten Regionalzeitungen Deutschlands.“
Joachim Dorfs arbeitet seit 2002 als Stellvertretender Chefredakteur des „Handelsblatts“, nachdem er zuvor unter anderem als Frankreich-Korrespondent und Ressortleiter Unternehmen für Deutschlands wichtigstes Wirtschaftsmedium tätig war. Er war maßgeblich an der Weiterentwicklung des „Handelsblatts“ in den vergangenen Jahren beteiligt, insbesondere an der Einrichtung eines modernen Newsrooms.
Bernd Ziesemer führt das „Handelsblatt“ gemeinsam mit drei weiteren Stellvertretenden Chefredakteuren: Michael Backfisch (Managing Editor), Hermann Knipper (Büroleiter Frankfurt) und Roland Tichy (Büroleiter Berlin).
Das „Handelsblatt“ ist Deutschlands größte Wirtschaftszeitung. In den beiden letzten Jahren war das „Handelsblatt“ das mit weitem Abstand am meisten zitierte Wirtschaftsmedium. Für die Zeitung arbeiten rund 200 Redakteure und Korrespondenten im In- und Ausland.
