The German Deaf Sport Association is sending experienced athletes as well as new competitors from the association's successful junior programme, who will represent Germany in a fair competition. The athletes will be supplied with top-performing and reliable power one hearing aid batteries.
For the first time in the history of the Deaflympics, a flame relay has also taken place, with the Deaflympic flame being carried from Paris, the birthplace of the games, to the host city Sofia in Bulgaria. The flame was carried through Germany by bicycle by the German flame relay team, who were also supplied with power one hearing aid batteries.
