Vanderlande's market segments in focus at LogiMAT 2017

(PresseBox) (Mönchengladbach, )
Vanderlande's exhibits at LogiMAT 2017 will focus on warehouse automation in the food retail and e-commerce markets. This year's featured products will be an exclusive selection from the company’s extensive range of innovative solutions for these segments.

During LogiMAT, Vanderlande will showcase the following technologically advanced, flexible and scalable concepts on stand 1J21 in Hall 1.

Food

ACP – outperforming traditional order fulfilment methods

Food retailers have to manage conflicts arising from the different value creation chains in stores and distribution centres. Optimisation often has an adverse effect on these chains for distribution centres, and vice versa.

Vanderlande's ACP (Automated Case Picking) concept creates a perfect balance between opposing goals in the value creation chain. It also helps food retailers to optimise the customer experience, ergonomics, and reduce CO2 emissions and costs. The company’s ACP solution allows for modular growth and parallel activities, which guarantee availability.

E-commerce

Item pick solution harnessing robotic technology

Item pick solutions focus on applications, such as order picking and infeed loading. These have to handle a large diversity of items, which can highly complex. Vanderlande will showcase a robot that can pick a wide range of products – up to 600 items per hour to a weight of 2kg – without the need to teach-in.

The robot can operate both independently and under the control of operators safely, with no fencing cell required. This collaborative item picking solution from Vanderlande is a compact, quick-to-install and easy-to-configure robotic system. Its flexibility, combined with the ability to relocate and reconfigure for other applications, ensures a favourable return on investment.

Supported by state-of-the-art software, the robot can pick most products without teach-in, a huge benefit when handling an ever-increasing range of items. In addition, it is capable of stacking, which enables efficient handling of products to, for instance, automated packing machines.
