Die UnternehmerTUM zählt zu den führenden Zentren für Innovation und Gründung in Europa. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Entwicklung von unternehmerischen Teams und Chancen: Jährlich begleitet die UnternehmerTUM etwa 20 Start-up-Teams auf ihrem Weg zur Gründung und betreut 40 Innovationsteams, die systematisch Geschäftskonzepte für neue Produkte und Dienstleistungen anhand von Prototypen erproben. Darüber hinaus eignen sich bei der UnternehmerTUM jährlich über 1.000 Personen aus dem universitären und wirtschaftlichen Umfeld unternehmerisches Know-how an.

2007 ist die UnternehmerTUM für ihre Arbeit und ihr überzeugendes Konzept zur Entwicklung unternehmerischer Kompetenzen mit dem Deutschen Arbeitgeberpreis für Bildung ausgezeichnet worden.
