Aachen; April 26, 2021 - umlaut, the global consultancy company and world leader in network testing and benchmarking, has analysed the three Mexican mobile networks of AT&T, Telcel and Movistar with regards to mobile broadband coverage. Applying the umlaut methodology, which is acknowledged as the global de-facto industry standard, umlaut conducted a crowd sourced analysis and the results show AT&T in the lead - achieving the best rated Broadband Coverage in Mexico. With a score of 450 out of a maximum of 500 points, AT&T shows the highest score overall. Telcel follows second with a score of 445 points while Movistar ranks third with an overall score of 359 points.

For the umlaut Audit Report, a thorough crowd-based analysis was conducted in Mexico over a period of six months - from August 2020 to January 2021. The analysis was based on 4.8 billion samples collected from 2.0 million users. The size of the crowdsourcing test area measured 689,641 km2 and covers 98 percent of the built-up area and 99 percent of the population area in Mexico.
The umlaut methodology allows a technical analysis that is unprecedented in its level of detail and enables comparisons between the performance and capability of each network. umlaut’s public benchmarks as well as its certificate benchmarks help network operators and providers to demonstrate how well they are delivering connections to consumers, business users and enterprises while also revealing the areas of improvement.
