Niedrigere Bewertung für Beteiligung Umicores an Nyrstar

Nach der durch Nyrstar vorgenommenen Werthaltigkeitsprüfung (angekündigt am 22. Januar) und gemäß den Internationalen Rechnungslegungsstandards (IFRS) wird Umicore den Buchwert seiner 5,25-prozentigen Beteiligung an Nyrstar reduzieren, um den Schlusskurs der Nyrstar-Aktie vom 31. Dezember 2008 wiederzugeben (2,19 EUR). Hierdurch entsteht in der Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung 2008, die dem Board of Directors am 11. Februar 2009 zur Genehmigung vorgelegt wird, eine einmalige nicht zahlungswirksame Belastung in Höhe von 68,1 Millionen EUR.

Gemäß IFRS muss der Jahresschlusskurs der Nyrstar-Aktie als Maßstab für die Wertminderung in der Buchführung von Umicore herangezogen werden. Nyrstars eigene ausführliche Werthaltigkeitsprüfung, die auf den erwarteten zukünftigen Cashflows des Unternehmens basiert, ergab eine deutlich höhere Bewertung für Nyrstar. Umicore zieht den Verkauf seiner Beteiligung an Nyrstar zum gegenwärtigen Aktienkurs nicht in Betracht.
